CareCal WT

CareCal WT is a Calciumcarbonate based filter medium for neutralization and remineralization of evaporated, reversed osmosis and softened water.

CareCal WT is a granular product with a microcrystalline structure. By this structure Care-Cal WT outperforms ordinary limestone by far.

The solubility of CareCal WT in water is low and is not insignificantly influenced by the water temperature. In absence of Carbondioxide the solubility amounts: 25 - 35 mg/liter; corresponding to a hardness of 1,5 - 2,0 °dH. Simultaneously to this re-hardening process, the pH value increases from pH 5,5 - 6,0 (typical pH-value of untreated evaporator distillate or reversed osmosis water) up to pH 7,5 - 8,5.

In the presence of carbondioxide in distillate, the resulting hardness increases proportionally to the Carbondioxide content according to the reaction between CareCal WT, Carbondioxide and water by formation of the readily soluble compound: Calciumhydrogencarbonate

Product consumption 2,5 grams/m³ water per ppm CO₂ reduced

Total average consumption of CareCal WT is 25 - 35 grams/m³ water.
