Careclean Rust

Careclean Rust is based on phosphoric acid and non-ionic surfactants. Careclean Rust is used for the removal of hardness stains after cleaning operations, removal of rust stains on paintwork, cleaning of aluminum floor plates, copper and brass fittings and wooden decks.

Paintwork

Dilute Careclean Rust to a 10 - 20 % solution in water. Apply the solution by brush or spray using plastic equipment. Leave to soak for 10 - 20 minutes. Rinse off using a powerful water jet and a brush, if necessary.

Descaling of inner piping

Dilute Careclean rust in a 5-10% solution in water and circulate for 30-60 minutes, preferably at a temperature of 40 - 60. Rinse with water until pH neutral.

General

In most cases Careclean Rust is applied by brush diluted with water to a 10 - 50 % solution. The reaction time has to be 5 - 10 minutes.

Small objects can be soaked in a plastic container. After cleaning, rinse items thoroughly with a waterjet.

Tank Cleaning

In case hardness stains and or residues are present after completion of cleaning operations, either inject 0,5 % Careclean Rust directly into the automatic washing system for approx. 30 minutes to 1 hour (with a minimum of 1 cycle) or circulate a 0,5 % solution of Careclean Rust in freshwater at a temperature is 75 - 85 °C for 1 hour. Careclean Rust is suitable to be used on epoxy and stainless steel coatings, it is not suitable to be used in zinc coated tanks.

Cargo Hold Cleaning

Careclean Rust is used to clean cargo holds after cargoes such as iron ore, limestone (carbonates) and magnesite and to remove any white residues from caustic cleaners or hardness deposits from seawater. After sweeping and demucking apply Careclean Rust in a 10-50% solution depending on the contamination. Let the product soak for 30 minutes making sure not to let the solution dry on the surface. Then spray off with water.

Careclean Rust can be applied with the Caretech Hold Cleaning Kit.
