Caretreat Economizer

Caretreat Economizer is a liquid blend of catalysts and neutralizing agents, that prevents soot built-up on the heat exchanger, in the exhaust gas boilers and low temperature corrosion in the exhaust gas system.

Due to ships sailing on reduced speed in combination with low fuel quality the amount of soot in the exhaust gas has increased. Because of the low gas flow, the soot particles can easily settle on the heat exchanger fins.

This results in decreasing exhaust gas boiler efficiency and decreasing engine efficiency. Caretreat Economizer prevents low temperature corrosion by neutralizing sulfuric acid.

Caretreat Economizer is a specially developed liquid which is easily dosed into the system, using a special Marine Care injection unit. The air assisted nozzles create a fine mist. The liquid vaporizes on contact with the hot exhaust gas. The exhaust gas temperature should be above 200 ˚C. The active material reacts with the soot particles to create light, dry and non-adherent soot particles that easily pass the heat exchanger in the exhaust gas boiler. The resulting deposit is friable and can be easily removed by conventional soot blowing.

In case the exhaust gas boiler is heavily fouled, water wash the heat exchanger with an alkali solution, for example Careclean Alkaline or Alkaline Extra.

Caretreat Economizer is injected undiluted, with an air assisted nozzle down stream in the exhaust gas line direct after the turbo charger discharge.
