Careclean Buffer

Careclean Buffer is a cleaning agent safely buffered at a pH of 5,5 for application on zinc silicate coated tank surfaces. Careclean Buffer is based on a complexing mild acid solution in combination with synthetic detergents and surfactants.

Careclean Buffer can safely be used on zinc silicate coating for the removal of:

• traces of lead, after carrying leaded gasoline or similar cargoes
• iron stains
• dyes discoloration
• traces of chloride and sulfide

Before cleaning with Careclean Buffer it is recommended to prewash with hot water.

Recirculation is highly effective and widely used. In this method a chemical solution is pumped via a closed loop through a mechanical tank washing machine. The chemical solution is normally prepared in the tank to be cleaned or in the slop tank. Heat is achieved by the use of a heat exchanger, steam coils or live steam injection. The advantages of this method are that heat and chemicals are recovered and can be used again to clean additional tanks. It is important to use fresh water only. The use of river- or seawater will cause a reaction which decreases the efficiency of the solution for tank cleaning.

Make sure to first introduce the fresh water into the tank before adding Careclean Buffer. Depending on the degree of contamination Careclean Buffer is circulated as a 10 % solution for a period of 45 - 60 min. at a temperature not exceeding 45 °C. Rinse the tank with Demineralized (D.I.) water, in case high purity standard is required.

Spray the tank surfaces with a 10 % solution of Careclean Buffer and let the product act for at least 30 min. Then rinse all tank surfaces with hot water for 45 minutes or as long as needed to remove the cleaning solution.
