Careclean Multiclean

Careclean Multiclean is a liquid blend of anionic and nonionic surfactants and complexing agents, for cleaning of nearly all light soft contaminations. Careclean Multiclean is used in the Engine Room, on Deck, for Tank cleaning and in the Accommodation.

Careclean Multiclean can be used on ferro and non-ferro metals, synthetic materials, rubber and hardened coatings, including Zinc coatings

Before cleaning with Careclean Multiclean it is recommended to prewash the tanks with hot water. For drying or semi-drying oils a prewash with cold water should be carried out immediately after discharge of cargo to retard oxidation and hardening of oil residues. After 1 cycle slowly start to increase water temperature to increase effectiveness of the prewash.

Recirculation is highly effective and widely used. In this method a chemical solution is pumped via a closed loop through a mechanical tank washing machine. The chemical solution is normally prepared in the tank to be cleaned or in the slop tank. Heat is achieved by the use of a heat exchanger, steam coils or live steam injection. The advantage of this method are the recovery of the heat and chemicals to clean additional tanks.

Depending on the degree and nature of contamination, Careclean Multiclean is circulated as a 2 - 5 % solution for a minimum period of 2 - 6 hours at a temperature of 60 - 80 °C (depending on the type of cargo). After circulation rinse thoroughly with (fresh) water. In case the next cargo is of high purity standard, make sure to rinse with Demineralized (D.I.) water.

Inject 2 - 5 % of Careclean Multiclean into the washing system. Maintain cleaning temperatures between 60 - 80 °C (depending on the type of cargo). Cleaning time is 2 - 6 hours, followed by thorough rinsing with fresh hot water or Demineralized (D.I.) water.

Spray the tank surfaces with undilluted Careclean Multiclean and let the product act for at least 30 min., rinse all tank surfaces with hot water for 1 or 2 cycles (approx. 30-45 minutes) or as long as needed to remove the cleaning detergent.

Dilute Careclean Multiclean depending on the type and amount of contamination with cold or hot water 1 : 3 till 1 : 200 (0,5 – 25 % solution). Clean with a brush, a sponge or cloths. Rinse with water.
