Carecoat Hold Guard

Carecoat Hold Guard is a water based liquid product especially formulated to leave a thin, temporary film on cargo hold surfaces. The film provides highly resistant barrier between the cargo and the cargo hold surfaces. Since the film is water soluble, it will make the cleaning operation after unloading quicker and easier with an excellent cleaning result since both the film and contamination are removed at the same time.

Carecoat Hold Guard is applied to cargo holds to prevent cargoes like cement powder, coal/pet coke, fertilizers, salt/sulfur to stick and/or stain the cargo holds. Resulting in savings: reduced cleaning time, shorter turn around times and reduced cleaning product consumption.

Before applying Carecoat Hold Guard make sure the surface is thoroughly cleaned. When the surface is dry Carecoat Hold Guard is applied directly from the drum as a ready to use mixture. Spray the liquid on the cargo hold surfaces by use of suitable low-pressure spraying equipment like our Caretech Application Kit SU or the Caretech Foam Cleaning Kit.

As soon as the surface appears wet, a proper film is created. There is no need to apply more than necessary. Allow the film to dry completely before loading the cargo. Depending on the air temperature and humidity this will take between 1 - 2 hours.

To remove Carecoat Hold Guard from the cargo holds only water is used by means of (high) pressure jetting for instance with the Caretech HPC 500. In case difficult to clean patches remain, use a 10 % solution of IMO approved Careclean Alkaline or Alkaline Extra, Bulk HC-S or HC-P. Spray the solution on the surface and let soak for 20 - 30 minutes, then rinse off with plenty of water.

1 liter of Carecoat Hold Guard will cover 15 - 20 per m².
The coating is supplied ready for use – do not dilute.
