Caretreat Hardness Control

Caretreat Hardness Control, is a traditional boiler water treatment product, for distortion of scale build and for Calcium and Magnesium Hardness Sludge dispersion. Caretreat Hardness Control is a liquid product based on organic polyphosphates. Caretreat Hardness control is used on boiler make up water with traces of hardness. Caretreat Hardness Control is used in conjunction with Caretreat Alkalinity Control and Caretreat Hydrazide (or other Caretreat Boiler treatment products).

Caretreat Hardness Control can be used in any type low and medium pressure boilersystem.

Caretreat Hardness Control can be used in the following Make-up water:

• evaporated water
• reversed osmosis water
• demineralised water
• softened water

Caretreat Hardness Control can be added directly to the feed water. We strongly recommend this is done by using a dosing pump. Never mix the product with other boiler water additives directly but dose separately. The product is preferably pored in to the Hotwell.

The boiler water must meet the following conditions:

• p-Alkalinity : 100-280 ppm CaCO₃
• Chlorides : max. 300 ppm Cl^- (Low pressure boilers)
  : max. 100 ppm Cl^- (Medium pressure boilers)
• pH : 9.5 to 10.8
• Conductivity : 400 to 2000 µS/cm (Low pressure boilers)
  : 400 to 1000 µS/cm (Medium pressure boilers)
• Phosphate : 25-45 ppm PO₄^3-
• Hydrazide : 0.8 - 1.5 ppm

0.25 liter per ton boiler contents.

Recheck phosphate level and increase dosage of Caretreat Hardness Control if necessary to maintain the desired phosphate level. This dosage depends on the steam production.
